I found a way to generate caricatures automatically, by what I call off-shell interpolation. That is, using Stylegan to generated images, instead of mixing portions that sum up to 100%, I am doing 1.5 * (person1) – 0.9 * (person2). This isn’t just a glitch, it tends to over-exaggeration facial features in a way reminiscent of caricatures. I used this to create some video-art for the Balfour protests, morphing between AI generated caricatures of Israeli cabinet members.
