Victoria Hanna – The Aleph-bet song

30 Apr

This is a work of genius! Victoria Hanna takes a feminist turn on the Cheder (Jewish school for boys) , teaching the Hebrew Alphabet to young girls, and adding nice yemenite touches. Her second video which quotes profusely from “Sefer Yetzira” one of the fundamental mystical texts of Kabbalah, also deals with the 22 letters of the Hebrew Aleph-Bet, and together with Darshan’s psychedelic take on the Aleph-Bass which was featured here earlier this year, we expect you’d be able to read Hebrew soon.

Terence McKenna: Octopus (Visual Language/VR-2)

26 Apr

Terence talking about the immediate visual language of octopi. Taken from IMAGINATRIX – The Terence McKenna Experience (2014).

Ken Adams has been collaborating and experimenting with McKenna for over twenty years and co-created Alien DreamTime and Strange Attractor. IMAGINATRIX was catalyzed by the recovery of previously unreleased videos circa 1990-94.

As a bonus, a video of Ken talking about the production of IMAGINATRIX. It contains interesting bits of information. It is implied Terence was involved in distributing LSD to make a living.

PRINCE!!!!

22 Apr

He may not have been traditionally psychedelic, but Prince embraced it all. He was funky, weird, beautiful, sexy and most of all an original genius. I mean he did name his estate Paisley Park. Prince videos don’t stay up for long on the world of youtube, but this gem will be here for a while. I’ve watched this video many many times over the past few years and am always blown away by his TOTAL COMMAND of the stage. Prince comes in at about the halfway point.

There was a period of time in my life where 80% of the music I listened to was Prince and the Butthole Surfers. I danced for a good hour this morning with unrestrained tears and booty shaking. The world has lost a unique treasure. Rest in Peace your Purpleness.
