You might very well ask: so, what is supposed to be psychedelic about the clip above? Isn’t this just a bunch of very normal scientists really involved in what they are doing? Well, I can not say you are wrong. But there is just something that strikes me odd about the way their curiosity shows… also one of the papier-mâché aliens has, you know, kinda wide pupils (he’s in a dark room after all).
“Something Primitive” is an absoutely experimental film which grabs the user into the strange world of a psilocybin mushroom trip.
“The video takes the viewer through a trip: First they’re a human being, then they are acquainted with psilocybin mushrooms – then they are inside the center of information.”
If you want to know more about the piece and it’s meaning be sure to read the artist’s statement, on YouTube, which starts with the warning that “the video has been identified by Epilepsy Action to potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.”
Just one of those times, when you’ve got a head full of bees.
A few weeks ago I came across the visual work of Imix Jaguar. He creates beautiful mystical visuals with a lot of Mayan signs in them. I’m sure I’ll feature more videos by him in the future.

A typical day in cartoon land.
A colorful and imaginative clip for the Beatles’ psychedelic song, It’s All Too Much. Have fun in Pepperland :^)
