This animation for Jean Sibelius’ Valse Triste is an excerpt from the movie Allegro Non Troppo (1976) by Bruno Bozzetto.
[I planned to post the animation Bozzetto created for Ravel’s Bolero (you can watch it here), but was not able embed a decent version here. Many thanks to Roland for sending me the link to the Bolero animation!]
This is the title sequence from the 1966 cult thriller “Seconds” (by John Frankenheimer). It has been created by Saul Bass who is a master of the art of the title sequence.
You can see some of the themes of this title sequence return in his work for 1991’s “Cape Fear” (by Martin Scorsese).
“Goodbye Rabbit, Hop Hop” is an incredibly organic, almost breathing animation short film by animation artist Caleb Wood. Following the rhythm of everyday impressions it goes – once again – down the rabbit hole. The beautiful soundtrack also deserves to be mentioned.
Enjoy!
The just released single “The Lens” by Thee Oh Sees is a beautiful psychedelic ballad. The video by Alex Theodoropulos accompanies it with classic cutout animation.
Enjoy your sunday!
