Neurons to Nirvana

8 Mar

“Neurons to Nirvana” is probably the best film I have ever seen on psychedelics. The film makers have assembled a formidable group of top experts on psychedelics which include, among others, figures such as Rick Doblin, Dennis McKenna, Ralph Metzner,  Wade Davis, Gabor Mate, Stanislav Grof, Jeremy Narby, Judy Holland, Michael Mithofer, Charles Grob, Kat Harrison, Ronald Griffiths, James Fadiman and Michael Winkelman.  These not only impart some fascinating information about psychedelics with great eloquence, but also sound the psychedelic message and its importance to our society with great lucidity and force.

This is a great introductory film to the topic psychedelics, and quite probably the best video to use if you want to educate a friend or a parent about the true facts of the subject, and the potential of these extraordinary mind-tools. I highly recommend watching the full film.

After featuring a number of posts on the works of Sid and Marty Krofft over the last few weeks,  I will conclude this introduction to the Krofft universe with the intro to Lidsville, their kooky 1971 children TV show.

Some more psychedelicious Krofft videos on the DPV:

Mama Cass sings in HR Pufnstuf

Mama Cass, The lead singer of The Mamas and the Papas, reclaims the lost honor of the witch as a symbol of nonconformity with conventional society, with a mesmerizing performance as a witch singing about the power of being different and unique, in spit of everything, in the 1960s cult psychedelic TV show HR Pufnstuf.

This is the End – Ecstasy Clip

Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Brauchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson drink a can full of ecstasy in the film “This is the End” (2013)

The Altered State of Drugachusetts

3 Feb

A few weeks ago I published a post about HR Pufnstuf the classic psychedelic children TV show of the 1960s.

In the late 1990s the HBO show “MR . Show with Bob and David” featured a short parody of the show called “The Altered Sates of Drugachusetts”, and even you don’t know the original show (Pufnstuf) this is one of the funniest psychedelic parodies I’ve ever scence.
