4 Aug

The Lollapalooza 2012 festival opened yesterday, and while it is a tad late to look for tickets now, you can still enjoy their deliciously psychedelic line up video.

The Living Room – Camila

16 Jul

Camila Writes us:

” Hi! Before everything, I want to say that this blog have a marvelous concept behind, which made me smile since the first minute I got here. About the video, I’ve made this one during my freshman year on uni. I think is both, visual and soundly, psychedelic. I consider myself living a psychedelic life, not only because the subculture I’m into, but because of the way I see life!”

Thank you Camila, we could see this from your video, which we liked a lot! Keep on living he psychedelic life!

If  you enjoyed this and want more, you can watch the long version here.

And if you got inspired to play around with living color, you can get yourself a nice little “psychedelic paint program” here.

Bermuda – Calvin Frederick

Hart to believe, but this breath-taking video was done without any computer effects, just stop motion photography.

“Acid Skull” – Psychedelic Short (Exploitation?) Film

18 Mar

I don’t really know what to make of this short film. It starts out like an interview or a documentary about bad trips but then suddenly it turns into some kind of a bad excuse scenario to show naked girls in chains (if your punk band is still in need of a catchy name, you can borrow “naked girls in chains” or “trippin’ nudes in chains” for a while since I won’t be needing it any time soon).

[Sadly Youtube removed the video because of the nudity. We hope to find an alternative source in the future. If you come across this little oddity somewhere, please let us know so we can share it with everyone.]

X-Peri-Mental (Vol. 1)

14 Mar

X-Peri-Mental?
Losing all perceptions of reality.
Swimming in a comfortable world, fluffy and foggy, the sequence of gestures, movements and situations taking place not in slow motion, but rather appearing illuminated by brief flashes of light as regular and as a result of a strobe unit in this excessive and dazzling moment, the music filling all space, seeming to accumulate in an opaque and solid mass, then diluting in color, sound waves and visual impressions becoming indistinguishable, based blocks of concrete materiality, almost rough, space and time turning confused, inextricably mingled in a kind of furious and informs matter, all of the blurred perceptions sinking into a deep obfuscation..
A total blackout.
And waking up without remembering anything, emerging suddenly from a deep sleep without dreams.

X-Peri-Mental!

Starry Night (interactive animation)

Petros Vrellis, a Greek animator created an beautiful application which allows to manipulate color strokes and turn classical paintings into works of animation while interacting with sound. In this video Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” is awoken into life in a very psychedelic way.

Theater of the Mind – Duff Hendrickson

28 Jan

Duff Hendrickson started making psychedelic films in the 1970s and has been active ever since. “The Theater of the Mind” is a highly surreal, highly psychedelic into the innerspace on the human mind, where Hendrickson finds very bizzare phenomena.
