“Baby All The Time” and “Release Us” – Psychedelic Edits by Julien Love

22 Apr

Some great and highly psychedelic disco edits by Julien Love / Kebabiman. He is also responsible for the pasacina “remix” I posted a few weeks ago.

Les Kiriki Acrobates Japonais

15 Apr

In 1907 people started using film to fulfill their anti-gravity desires. Write it down in your psychedelic history book, now.

Pasacina

8 Apr

This is a beautiful latvian animation and its “remix”.

Enjoy!

Fantastic Planet (“La Planète Sauvage”)

1 Apr

..the beautiful and award-winning classic from 1973 by René Laloux!  It also has a great psychedelic soundtrack by Alain Goraguer (you might recognize some of the sounds from hip-hop producer Madlib’s “Quasimoto” project).

The Animations of Yuri Norstein

25 Mar

Yuri Norstein’s beautiful animations “Seasons” and “Hedgehog in the Fog” may not be psychedelic in an explicit way. But I think their richness in texture and form and “sense of metamorphosis” make them more than suitable to our purpose of providing you with something beautiful and maybe even meaningful to watch when in that… special kind of mood. Enjoy!

“Hedgehog in the Fog” is one of my all-time favourites!

“Acid Skull” – Psychedelic Short (Exploitation?) Film

18 Mar

I don’t really know what to make of this short film. It starts out like an interview or a documentary about bad trips but then suddenly it turns into some kind of a bad excuse scenario to show naked girls in chains (if your punk band is still in need of a catchy name, you can borrow “naked girls in chains” or “trippin’ nudes in chains” for a while since I won’t be needing it any time soon).

[Sadly Youtube removed the video because of the nudity. We hope to find an alternative source in the future. If you come across this little oddity somewhere, please let us know so we can share it with everyone.]

See the Light of 7UP

11 Mar

This is another fine psychedelic 7UP commercial, this time from 1974. It reminds me quite a bit the cover of this Mercury Rev record.

Enjoy!

Kraftwerk’s Autobahn animated by Roger Mainwood

4 Mar

I don’t know if you ever thought about Kraftwerk as a psychedelic group, but this animation by Roger Mainwood certainly brings out all those trippy qualities in the music.

Actually, Kraftwerk started as a group of long-haired experimental krautrock jam hippies. You don’t believe it? Convince yourself:

Psychedelic Salvia Trip Music IV – The Bread of God

26 Feb

44 minutes of constantly changing visuals, music and spoken word!

There are at least five parts of Psychedelic Salvia Trip Music series out there.

Check out number three for that trippy music by The Formless Dreamer and Sage Bodisattva.

“Skeletons Having Sex on a Tin Roof” by Orphic Oxtra

19 Feb

Did you see that cat around 1:20? There was a white cat, alright…

(Thanks to Jochen for the link!)
