Forward – Messe Kopp

I’m always fascinated by works of art which look at time in a backwards way. The film Memento by Christopher Nolan (To my mind, still his finest creation) is one of my favorite examples, and one of the most amusing (and very recommended) explorations of the hilarious implications of backwards time is the first episode of the third season of Red Dwarf. This new video which was shot in streets of Jerusalem is definitely a new favorite for backwards music clip.

Jemapur – Clarte

2 Aug

Animation by Genki Ito. From video description: “Taking as its inspiration the sub-atomic world of a nuclear fusion reaction, Clarte visually re-imagines this microcosm into a beautifully poetic animation, pulsing and flowing along with Jemapur’s dark and textured sound. Experimenting with HDV recording, analog footage of milk floating on water, sediment in rotten wine, and caustics from reflected projector lights were all incorporated into the digital animation.”

An new awe-inspiring video Robert Seidel, who some of you might remember from Advanced Beauty or Chiral.  This one was explores a projection sculpture which was presented in 401contemporary  gallery inBerlin.

“Fragments of projection, sculpture and sounds perfoliate the gallery space, allowing the viewer to create endlessly varied audio-visual compositions by wandering around, essentially becoming a part of the artwork itself.”

PSYCHEDEMIA – The Psychedelic Conference Documentary

27 Jul

On September 2012 I had the privilege of participating in the Psychedemia Conference, an academic conference about psychedelics and culture which took place in Penn University. The event was mind-blowing and amazing, so I was thrilled to find this documentary movie about it. The film features a great number of psychedelic researchers, thinkers and artists, giving a great intro the current world of psychedelic thinking and culture from a variety of perspectives: medical, ethical, spiritual, cultural and philosophical. I highly recommend it.
