A chiral phenomenon or structure is some weird-ass thing that is not identical to its mirror image. You have to admit the concept sounds cool, even though you wouldn’t immediately understand it. Inspired by this scientific idea, German Robert Seidel went and created a very unique motion graphics piece using among other things projection onto a paper sculpture.

When people of the online generation die, I bet the bardos they go through look like the brain-shredding mayhem that is The External World.

The Wellcome Collection is currently holding an exhibition on mind altering drugs in history and culture. The exhibition has been showing since November and will be on until the 27th of February. If we were in London, we would definitely check it out!

When I first saw the video to Power by Kanye West something about it struck me as surprisingly psychedelic. But I could not really put my finger on it: was it the heavy and over the top symbolism, was it the kaleidoscopic yet very straight sensual overload or was it just the idea of a painting slowly beginning to move and expand?
I lost track of this intuition until I just reacently saw this excerpt from Book of Days by Meredith Monk. And there it was again..
The audience was asked to deliver us some images in a shared map over the network, which we mixed live on the music.
Software: Photoshop (for placing the images live in a individual mask-grid system), Quartz Composer & VDMX5
Hardware: a bunch of midi-controllers, 4 macbooks, 1 beamer and a Camcorder.
