Galactic Love

4 Nov

Who ever you will talk with about trance parties will mention The Vibe. It’s hard to define what creates The Vibe, and it’s not that easy to find it. It’s a magical moment when enough people but no too many meet and share magic. On the dance floor you die and reborn every few minutes. It’s happenning probably right now, somwehre around you, in the desert, in the woods, on a hill, in a squat, look for it, be the vibe you want see!

The Animated Avadhuta // ULTIMAYA

Salutations to consciousness from consciousness.

Here is an Unmoving travel through dimensions of perception. The elements of language are segments of the mind; can they be the structure of the world? On the fractal fresco of phenomena, the variety of all the symbols of oneness sprout and come to life.

The artwork’s basis is one 20 foot long hand drawing that took one year completing. Its backbone is the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which are spread like seeds of meaning among the infinite canvas of random facts. Living beings are linked by secret strands of DNA. This Drawing of Babel, that some call the Universe, is called different names, like God itself: the Psychotorah, The ABC of the Absolute, Noah’s Archetype…
The movie shows one possible wandering through its maze.

The text is an ancient sanskrit advaita vedanta wisdom, which has been almost unknown even in India for centuries. Its title means: the song of the naked one, the sage that got rid of ideas and identification and sings out of bliss.

Mooji is a contemporary spiritual teacher who has a large number of videos available on youtube, bringing to life this ancient wisdom with stunning clarity.

It is like an act of love defying time to merge After Effects and Devanagari, the latest technology and the earliest recorded outbursts of insight into the depths of reality. This is as far as words may come to give a hint of the absolute…

The musicians are my music teachers, having a very high level in Hindustani music and an inner understanding of it.

Yokoo

Oh, I just love the work of Japanese psychedelic pop artist/designer Tadanori Yokoo. It’s not really surprising to find out he also did some animation, but still, it made my day.

Animations by Vince Collins

Euphoria (1974)
200 (1975)
Fantasy (1976)
Malice in Wonderland (1982)

The animation I’ve embedded is one of his least disturbing, Life is Flashing Before Your Eyes (1984). Now, you should be aware these are some heavy mindfuck material, especially Malice in Wonderland.
Quotes: “Malice in Wonderland is the only video on Youtube that actually scared me. Thank you.”
“your malice vid has scarred me for life man”

Vince has his own Youtube channel, but is not producing the time-consuming hand drawn stuff anymore, because this isn’t the 1970s, when there was grant money flying around for artists like him.

Gathering of the tribe

16 Sep

My first experience with psychedelic consciousness was through psychedelic trance gatherings. It’s been many years since that moment and I had my ups and downs with the psychedlic trance scene, but all in all I still feel a part of this secret tribe. This tribe is diverse, it exists everywhere and at all times. Every summer when the festival seasone peaks the tribe is gathering. People come from all over the world to share this one consciousness this one love.

Felix the Cat – Dines and Pines (1926)

14 Sep

Felix the Cat has a crazy little trip after going to sleep with a full belly. The video is cued to start near the trip sequence, so if you want to see the whole cartoon, skip to the beginning.

You can only find this place by drifting

11 Sep

The quiet man seems to be the only living soul in post apocalyptic deserted London. John Foxx, the British musician, compiled this spoken word record, which inspired graphic artist Jonathan Barnbrook in making this dream-like drift through an alien city.

The Tale of How (2006) by The Blackheart Gang

31 Aug

The Blackheart Gang are a South African trio of artists. They are professionals earning their living making TV commercials, but in their free time they work on art projects of their own. Daily Psychedelic Video has already featured a Friskies commercial designed by the visual artists of the Gang.

The Vimeo channel has a making-of and many other impressive clips and commercials.
