It’s interesting to see how mind expansion is used in commercials. Look for the jacket pusher next to your house…

The motion graphics and design is by BEMO who also did the visuals on the Eskmo video I published a while back

4 Mar

I don’t know if you ever thought about Kraftwerk as a psychedelic group, but this animation by Roger Mainwood certainly brings out all those trippy qualities in the music.

Actually, Kraftwerk started as a group of long-haired experimental krautrock jam hippies. You don’t believe it? Convince yourself:

Sita Sings the Blues – The Ramayana gone psychedelic

25 Feb

Sita Sings the Blues is a 2008 animated rendition of the great Indian epic The Ramayana, written, directed, produced and animated by American artist Nina Paley.

Hinduism has always had a distinct psychedelic style, but The opening sequence, which is like an animated introduction to Hindu mythology, definitely brings Hinduism even closer to it’s psychedelic days of Soma.

This second clip, from the middle of the film, also has a nice psychedelic touch.
