This film tells a story of a soul traveling in a different unknown world. In THO-OG perceptive people will see the world where their souls dwell. The main character of the film is one of them.

Sound-Reactive Visuals // Beyond the magic mushrooms

4 Mar

Sound-reactive visuals made by Victor Morales to the music of Pal Asle Pettersen all in a colorful virtual world based on CRYengine gaming technology.

“Mushrooms” is basically a sound reactive animation where only the camera’s position and FOV are affected by the lowest frequencies of the audio.

Meanwhile in a world far, far away …

25 Feb

This is a short film created during the “Porgrave” shooting, the latest film by Sandro Bocci, that will be released in late 2015. …Meanwhile… shows the world of marine animals like corals and starfish at high magnification and during long time span through the timelapse. The music almost alien and disturbing has been joined to the images that stimulate mental associations to create a contrast, stimulate synesthesia and feelings do not necessarily harmonics and assonant.
This is an infinitesimal part of the wonderful world in which we live and of which we should take better care. A trip through a different perspective that would encourage reflection on the consequences of our actions on each scale of space and time.
Enjoy the vision…

South Park creators: Trey Parker / Matt Stone on Acid at Oscars Ceremony

18 Feb

This is the wildly epic video of their drug-induced walk down the red carpet.

South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are comedic geniuses and wildly innovative creative minds. They’re also exactly the type of guys you would expect them to be in real life. Known to push limits and cross boundaries on TV, Parker and Stone take things to a whole new level after Parker got nominated for best song at the Oscars for Blame Canada, a musical sequence in the movie, South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut. Without a girlfriend at the time, Parker took Stone along as his plus-one.

At first Stone thought it would be a funny idea to dress up like a woman, and try to pass off as Parker’s date. But then, they got a better idea: they would both dress up like woman, and take acid before going to the Oscars. They even copied their dresses from ones previously worn by Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow. Stone says he’ll never forget the moment he got out of the limousine.

Outer Space ~ Peter Tscherkassky

11 Feb

Outer Space samples a sequence from a 1981 Hollywood film, starring Barbara Hershey, which was made in widescreen, but in colour (rather than black and white). This film is The Entity directed by veteran Canadian-born filmmaker Sidney J. Furie, which, unfortunately, I haven’t seen.* The internet movie database “tagline” certainly suggests that The Entity is indeed the film that is being sampled: “Something evil is after Carla Moran, and it will stop at nothing to get her.” The IMDb “plot outline” begins “Supposedly based partially on a true story, a woman is tormented and molested by an invisible demon.” Simultaneously, Tscherkassky reduces the original work by subtracting the colour, but adds so much more, by reworking it, superimposing images, fragmenting through rapid montage, and creating a new, highly aggressive soundtrack.

Curious Alice 1971

4 Feb

This drug abuse educational film portrays an animated fantasy based upon the characters in “Alice in Wonderland.” The film shows Alice as she toured a strange land where everyone had chosen to use drugs, forcing Alice to ponder whether drugs were the right choice for her. The “Mad Hatter” character represents Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), the “Dormouse” represents sleeping pills, and the “King of Hearts” represents heroin. Ultimately, Alice concluded that drug abuse is senseless.

Alex Krygier psyclips

I discovered the songs of this guy via the radio here in my French hometown, so went to check on the web for some music clips, and found a really interesting and trippy world going around Alex Krygier from Argentina ! This guy is a genius, his style ? as he describes it: voodoo cumbia, peruvian surf, tropical klezmer, andean twist… !

Illuminati Destroyer // Renard Frak

21 Jan

From one of my favorite psy-contributor // Renard Frak

he usually gives himself three artistic directives for his new creations as he notices:
1) I have to create the melody based on the improvised percussion that I begin with. I then sort out the best rhythms, and I apply a different note from a diatonic range to each drum (using the trigger technique). From this mess, I keep only the melodies that stand out on their own.
2) I draw inspiration from the period when the Beatles were at their most eccentric. The sitar kicks serious ass, let’s reintroduce it in our music !
3) The video must be inspired by the roaring twenties (1920), outrageously eccentric, as close to real life, from the pure feeling of creation, by eliminating as much as possible all cartesian reflexes.
22) It will be what it will be ! And anyway, being a Utopian, I believe that true democracy no longer exists, that we live in a lie, that we must free our minds from the manipulation of the mass media and large corporations hungry for power, blood and money. Let us give us back the title of citizen and not merely voter. So, like it or not, it is reflected in my creations …

All of this, because I consider that everything sounds the same these days. The music scene needs to be shaken up, we need to have laboratories of creation. Also, mixing items that do not go together has always fascinated me. And trying to wake our consciences by all possible means, even those never envisaged, at least it’s a start …
