Larry Carlson is a highly surreal visionary multi-media artist whose videos are among the most psychedelic I’ve seen in a long time. Mixing esoteric motives with science fiction themes and spooky music, Carlson draws one into a strangely appealing and very suggestive trip. Be sure to visit his site, probably one of the most psychedelic websites in existence…
Gathering of the tribe
16 SepMy first experience with psychedelic consciousness was through psychedelic trance gatherings. It’s been many years since that moment and I had my ups and downs with the psychedlic trance scene, but all in all I still feel a part of this secret tribe. This tribe is diverse, it exists everywhere and at all times. Every summer when the festival seasone peaks the tribe is gathering. People come from all over the world to share this one consciousness this one love.
Felix the Cat – Dines and Pines (1926)

3D triping on YouTube
13 SepBack in the 1990’s there was this fad of stereographic posters, and you could see people standing in gift-shops, staring at completely abstract patterns and occasionally here someone crying “I CAN SEE!”
If you got the hang of it, you can move to the next level of stereographic videos: Just go to full screen view, cross your eyes and step into the third dimension.
This one requires more intense eye-crossing, but is well worth it:
You can only find this place by drifting
11 SepThe quiet man seems to be the only living soul in post apocalyptic deserted London. John Foxx, the British musician, compiled this spoken word record, which inspired graphic artist Jonathan Barnbrook in making this dream-like drift through an alien city.

Chotto Torimasuyo – Possibly the wildest craziest Japanese manga shit ever
10 Sep
Some clips just make you go: Wow!!! Then they make laugh uncontrollably for minutes at a time. And then watch them again, and again, and again. “Chotto Torimasuyo” by 2ch group Hachimiri, is certainly one of them. A crazy mixture of psychic visuals, Flash, hardcore techno music and anime aesthetics, of that special kind that only Japanese people could create.
I could not find any video-streaming version of this one, so you have to press the link and download the .swf file which will play on your browser. But it is worth it, oh yeah!

Painting the city
9 Sep‘Lightrails’ is a light sculpture with the intention to re-define and re-interpret the exhibition room. An easy but effective mapping technique was used to create seamless projections on both sides of the object. Light-beams were triggered by the visitors and ran through the room, following the surface created by the sculpture. Each “reflection” of the light-beam was accompanied by sound. read more—->

Syncrosect (2004)
7 SepSyncrosect is a collaboration between psychedelic trance musician Mr. Peculiar (Dustin Saalfield) and visual artist The Shapeshifter (Alex Courtney).
The idea of Syncrosect is to visually capture the vibrant energy and rich atmospheres of trance music. The system used to achieve this involves separating out individual sounds and creating animations to match. The animation loops are then composited and sequenced to precisely match the audio.
They have uploaded two of the six tracks on the DVD to Vimeo, so click on the Vimeo-text to get to the other one.
