“Love Letter” by Marc Almond

Before western 80s pop culture went back into full hippie mode with the rave movement, it presented itself mostly decidedly anti-hippie: cold electric or neon lights, urban and nervous, glamorous and vein. Still a lot of visual language of psychedelic culture found its way into the music videos of the time. It’s rather interesting to see how it got transformed.

KOKOSMOS

12 Apr

Released today, April 12 for Russia’s Cosmonautics Day, Kokosmos is a purely visual work, at a crossroad between a fashion film, a music piece and an experimental video – created by Russian director Anna Radchenko.

Featuring model Yana Dobroliubova, recognized for her striking and ethereal looks which break away from traditional beauty standards, Kokosmos is a tribute to Russia’s infatuation with space. The director worked exclusively with a selection of Russian fashion designers and stayed true to the post-soviet space theme through a neon colour palette.
