This Will Destroy You – “New Topia”

2 Oct

Experimental post rock band, This Will Destroy You, brings us and adult swim a music video for the song “New Topia” which is about the spiritual and symbolic journey through the seven sacraments, which allows us to dream for what could be revealed behind the door to the afterlife. New Topia is a place for imagination and hope for what lies ahead.

Honestly probably one of my top psychedelic/animation video of this year. The ethereal sounding music takes over your mind and body as you watch the simplistic symbols transform, before the song kicks in sending you into deep time. so be warned…

This WILL destroy you

A friend of mine has told me he thinks this first one is a reference to a folk tale that involves a creature luring ordinary people out to the sea, appearing during a festival. He’s also told me that the vocalist’s accent is quite funny to most Swedes.

And this one is just a dream come true after having sat through a considerable number of stuffy church services growing up. Winner of a Grammy.

Thank you, Kyle, for introducing me.

Tangerine Dream – Live At Coventry Cathedral 1975

11 Dec

A cathedral is a multimedia work of art. It addresses all of one’s sences: the smell of incense, the coldness of it’s stone, the magnificent colored light shining from the stained glass window and the liturgical chanting help transform the believer’s conciessness into a spiritual experience.
