Bryum & Kapok (music videos for Hauschka’s Eltern, Heimat and Freibad)

19 Sep

Music video for the songs Eltern, Heimat and Freibad by Hauschka from his album Ferdorf. Animation by Overture.
Two forest creatures, removed from any dated time, dwelling across a mountain range of familiar leaf and branch. Kapok, of light and fluffy form, drifting in thought on quiet afternoons while keeping to the glades of the lower mountain forests. And Bryum, mossy and tough-skinned, traveling from distant elevated plains to live and grow deeper into the moss and lichen and rock among the higher mountain firs. Lost in their own personal worlds they shape and protect the ancient woods they live in.

Recess: School’s Out – “Green Tambourine”

7 Aug

Credit sequence from the movie Recess: Schools Out.

I remember watching this show whenever i could when i was a kid, and it brings backs much nostalgia just watching it again. I saw the movie as a kid, but watching it again i never noticed how much 60’s references there were, as well as this psychedelic ending to my childhood. It brings me much joy and laughter knowing that a children’s show like this had the balls to incorporate 60’s elements like this into there movie. Its beautiful really, and earns its place as one of my favorite childhood shows.

Hope everyone had a good month of July this year. To end this month off, i wanted to show you all a visualization of pure beauty.

The composer of the song Olafur Arnalds, originally wrote this song for a bathtub commercial. But when the bathtub people did not like it, he used it for himself. An art student then used After Effects to create a stunning visual animation.

N.E.R.D. – “Squeeze Me”

3 Jul

5 years after there last album or any independent work, Squeeze Me by N.E.R.D was created solely for the 2015 movie “The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water”.

Even though this movie wasn’t very good, it still confused and intrigued me that a kids show like Spongebob were its had no previous use of psychedelic visuals, is using psychedelic visuals to both promote and entertain viewers of there movie with. I mean it worked in the long run i thought it was cool, and it makes me wonder why more shows don’t incorporate psychedelic visuals. Marketing gimmick?
